Counselling offers an impartial and supportive space to help you explore your thoughts and emotions, without judgment. From this place, you can talk through your experiences and challenges in order to identify and unhelpful ways of thinking and uncover any root causes that may be leading to your distress. Ultimately, counselling is about being yourself and honestly exploring your experiences and feelings, with someone who offers you compassion and understanding.

Who is Counselling For?

Counselling is for those who feel ready to explore themselves more deeply, whether you are struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, grief, or simply feeling stuck or disconnected. You may be seeking relief from distress, clarity about your direction, or a stronger sense of meaning and purpose. What clients all tend to share is a wish to feel more at ease with themselves and their lives, and a curiosity about how therapy can support positive change.

Challenges I typically work with in sessions

I work with a wide range of life difficulties, including:

  • Feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed or uncertainty about what direction to take in life
  • Relationship difficulties, whether with others or with oneself (inner critic, self-image, low self-esteem, self-doubt, anxiety)
  • Past or recent distressing life events (loss, trauma, grief)
  • Challenges around meaning, values, purpose, and identity
  • Transition times: career changes, life changes, separations

Clients often come wanting both to process what has been in the past and to move forward in a way that feels more aligned with their values and connected to who they are.

What to Expect During a Session

Sessions are 50 minutes with the flexibility of both shorter and longer-term interventions, where I adapt to your needs, tailoring sessions to a timeframe and pace that feels right to you.

  • You are the expert of your own life. My role is to listen, hold space, ask questions, and gently reflect your own wisdom.
  • We'll jointly explore your emotions, experiences, and belief systems.
  • Integrative methods, drawing on humanistic, psycho-spiritual, solution-focused and mindfulness-based approaches.
  • A safe, non-judgmental environment where you can share whatever is on your mind.
  • Some sessions will involve noticing patterns and processing past experiences, while others will focus more on the present and developing healthy coping strategies and practices.

Benefits of Counselling

Clients often describe the greatest benefits as feeling truly heard and supported in a safe, non-judgmental space. Through sessions, many gain greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a kinder relationship with themselves. Counselling can help you move beyond old patterns, find clarity in the present, and take steps toward living more authentically. Over time, this process nurtures confidence, balance, and a renewed sense of possibility in their lives.
